1 John 4.4
Good morning,
Pray that things are well with you and yours,
God blessed us with a great Easter weekend this year… the weather was perfect for our sunrise service at New Hope BC, Englewood. We tried a new format singing all of our musical Capella. We could have created a lot of work when we set up outside under the oak trees however, we decided to simplify things in an attempt to maximize everyone’s opportunity to worship. Just a pulpit and chairs in God’s Cathedral. 😊 Truth be known we probably came a lot closer to replicating worship services of the past. Attendance at our free breakfast was up from last year and all stayed for the Crawford Adult Bible Study. (That is one strong discussion group.) 😊 As usual attendance was up for our 10:30 PM Easter Worship. God has blessed us with musical talent. Shelly put together a very worshipful program of hymns and three special solos that blessed our souls. I shared some thoughts from scripture with my main thought simply that Easter is a person. Easter is Jesus Christ. He is Risen.
Couple of more weeks and we will be back in the sanctuary. The building was constructed in 1975 and the drywall ceiling was attached with nails. Those nails had started to pull through and the ceiling was sagging dangerously in several places. Repairs were needed and we bit the bullet so to speak and are making the repairs to the entire building. I have enjoyed worshiping in the fellowship hall but understand folks’ need for a little more upscale (so to speak) Worship Center. Personally, I feel just as comfortable sharing Christ under the Oak trees standing in the grass as I do when under led lights and on carpet.
I believe that I am adjusting well to my new path on this journey. I am blessed with the world’s greatest support from my Lord and Savior, my family, my church, and my friends. And even from some new acquaintances. God is good.
I am still working on a blog regarding distractions. One of my biggest issues. I will publish that blog soon. Not all blogs will be this personal.
Love you with the love that God has placed in my heart.
Grace and Blessings
